China Trip Guilin

When we were in China from March 27th to April 10th, I had no access to my blog, so I have to post the pictures after we come back today. The flight from Vancouver to Beijing took 10.5 hours before we flew to Guilin, Guang Xi province in southern China on March 28th. We stayed in Guilin for two nights to visit two foster homes and exchange our traveler’s cheque into Chinese currency. Of course we went to the Seven Star Rock Park close by as well.

The tree roots carving sales by the streets. Guangxi people are famous for their artistic talents and garden designs. There are dozens of ethnic groups in this province, so the culture is unique and attractive.

Beautiful Rhododendron tree are all over the places.  Since this year is quite try, we did not see as many peach flowers as two years ago.

I do not know the name of this red leaf bush, but feel that the washroom behind is very specially designed.

Straw shoes made by the grandma of one of the foster homes we've visited. This is the only income source for this family of three (grandma and two girls).

We've visited three foster kids in this area and we've provided one year financial support to these three girls.
