Ten of us determined to hike today. From Calgary, drive 58 km west on Trans Canada Highway #1 towards Banff to the Highway 40 exit and drive south into Kananaskis Country. The trailhead is 9 km south at the Barrier Dam Day Use Area. Distance: 10 km return. Elevation gain: 500 metres.
Adventure and memories awaits as we explore the deep forests, towering peaks, and clear mountain streams of Kananaskis Country provincial park of Alberta. This mountain environment provides essential habitat for many species, including grizzly and black bear, cougar, elk, lynx, and moose. With over 4000 square kilometres of wild landscapes, this is a place where all of us can connect with the natural world. We've been to this trail many times, but each time makes it a joyful and non-forgetable trip!
Great photos... Breathtaking place. I want to move to your country!

ReplyDeleteHi Swera,
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting and your words. Glad you like this place. Yes, it is so peaceful and refreshing in the mountains, and I guess we've taken it for granted for so long until we are leaving.
