I can't wait to open my Christmas gift, a NIKKOR 55-200 mm lens. A special permit was granted to me to mount this gift onto my old Nikon camera, that has a 18-55 mm lens, as the family was set to leave for a ski trip to Fernie, British Columbia this morning. It takes about four hours to drive from Calgary to Fernie. Highway 22 stretches through Southern Alberta's ranches, which spread beautifully along the rolling foothills of the Rockies. Here is my first batch of test pictures from the new lens, and the place in the pictures is called Longview, where cowboys love rodeo.
