It was Saturday July 3rd. After unpacking for a couple of hours in the morning, we decided to drive to downtown Kuwait or Kuwait City. On the way to the north, I saw this unique building (not sure if it is a residential villa or a museum) that has trees on the roof! The architecture of the buildings here is mysterious and fascinating!
This is another building beside one of the public beaches. It looks like a pyramid to me.
One of the beaches
I guess this is one of the best locations for Burger King in the world – right on the Arabian Sea. (It is hard to take a good angle to shoot the picture with the sea.) When you drive through, you literally drive on the paved beach!
Breath-taking scenery! Why do Kuwaitis run away for traveling while they have a hidden peal right under their noses?? It is much cooler by the water!
Does it look like Hong Kong, Singapore or New York? No, it is Kuwait. The tall building is called "Dancing Building" the locals.
Lots of green in this area. One should know how much green means to Kuwaitis.
Big smiling face is right on the sea shore too! And with the grapevine scripts (the term I used for Arabic). Although I am not a fan of Burger King and McDonald, it is nice to see something that is familiar.
20 KD for 1 hour ride
Water fountain close to a grocery store.
What stuns me is the complete lack of people in these beautiful venues! Is it because it's just too hot in the day? Annette
ReplyDeleteI took the photos at noon when it is the hotest time in a day. I am sure there are lots of people in the afternoon, as I walk 30 min. a day. I love it - lots of Vitamin D. :)
