Friends are made through hospitalities

July 8th, Thursday

In order to get to know our new neighbours and friends, we had a “Visa Conversion Celebration Party” on Thursday night (Thursday night here is like our Friday night in Canada) in our new apartment home! ExploreMan ordered pizza and Thai food on the way back home; and I had made a potato salad, an Italian noodle dish with Taiwan sesame oil, Kuwaiti chilli sauce, Yemen honey, Greek balsamic vinegar and olive oil; and a Chinese cold dish with Thai rice noodles, Egypt cucumbers, carrots and Kuwaiti green bean spring sprouts. The guests brought lots of local deserts! Oh, temptation!! I made a pot of organic Japanese puffed barley green tea that I brought from Canada, but was made in Japan (This is my favourite tea). Our guests are from Pakistan, Egypt, Canada, U.S. and Ethiopia! Oh my! I’ve never had so many nationalities in our home before. Pizza was great, but the Thai food is not my type.

My lovely kitchen
A good kitchen makes me feel that cooking is a therapy for early retirement.  :)

Kuwait is a heaven for shopaholics and foodaholics! I have to confess that I am both.  :)

  2. Yes, the kitchen is indeed a beauty that you do not want to hire a nanny (maid) any more. :) I WANT THIS KITCHEN FOR MYSELF!! :) All appliances are Siemens that are designed a little different from our huge American ones. They use propane tank for fuel. I bought a CO and natural gas detector from Canada, but the voltage seems a trouble. Also I have not found a fire extinguisher yet in the stores.
